Specialist floor paint

Mechanical grinding, shotblasting or acid etching may be necessary to remove loose and flaking material, dust and laitance.
Ensure the surface is completely clean and dry before application, coo-var degreaser or oil remover can be used to clean the floor.
Moisture content of the surface should be less than 14% prior to painting.
For previously painted surfaces, make sure to clean, abrade and remove all loose and flaking material.

If your garage will experience vehicle traffic, we recommend using a two-pack epoxy floor paint that resists hot tire pickup. Both Coo-Var Profloor Plus and SPO Epoxy Floor Paint are excellent options for this purpose
If your garage will experience light traffic such as storage use, our SPO floor paint is an excellent choice for this.

Porous tiles can be painted with any floor paint from our range. Glazed tiles, however, are more difficult to paint. To determine if your tiles are porous, drop some water onto the surface. If the water sits on top, the tiles are porous; if it sinks into the tiles, they are glazed.
Glazed tiles are hard to paint because their smooth, non-porous surface creates poor adhesion for paint. If you wish to paint your glazed floor tiles, start by cleaning them with Fluxaf Power Clean. Follow this by lightly sanding the surface to create an adequate 'key' for the paint to adhere to.
You can then use SPO Two-Pack Floor Primer Sealer, which will grip the tiles and allow you to paint them with Coo-Var Acrylic Floor Paint.

If your concrete floor registers a moisture reading above 14%, we suggest applying Coo-Var Dampshield Primer followed by Coo-Var Profloor Plus. The Coo-Var Dampshield Primer will act as a damp proof membrane (DPM) for your floor. Please note that Dampshield can only be overcoated with Profloor Plus and this is a two-pack epoxy system.
