Any rust should be removed, and surfaces should be abraded to make sure an adequate ‘key’ is produced. If the surface is galvanised, Teamac T-Wash (mordant solution) should be used to etch the surface prior to painting.

Yes, you can paint rusty metal, but proper preparation is essential. We recommend removing any loose rust and sanding the surface. Then, use Fluxaf Power Clean to degrease and clean the surface. Apply Teamac Rust Converter to stabilise any remaining rust. Follow this by priming the metal with Teamac Zinc Phosphate Primer and finish with a topcoat of Teamac Metalcote.
