FAQs

What paint is best for tough stains and odours?

SPO Shellac primer is the optimal solution for effectively blocking stains and odours. Once applied, you can confidently apply additional coats without worrying about the stain resurfacing.

What paint is best for high traffic floors?

Both Coo-Var Profloor Plus and SPO Two-Pack Epoxy Floor Paint are excellent options for this high-traffic areas. These products are both two-pack epoxy paints.

Can you paint over tiles?

When painting tiles, it’s important to clean them first with Fluxaf Power clean, follow this by abrading them.
You can paint over wall tiles using our shellac primer followed by a decorative coating of your choice.
For floor tiles we recommend using Two-Pack Floor Primer/Sealer followed by Coo-Var Acrylic Floor Paint.

Can you paint damp walls?

Painting over damp walls is not advisable because it can lead to several issues, including poor adhesion, peeling, blistering, and mould growth. You should Identify the source of moisture first and check for leaks, condensation, or other sources of dampness and fix them. If you have fixed the issue but your wall remains damp, you can use SPO Anti-Damp Paint to prime the wall, allowing you to decorate sooner than you normally would with a breathable emulsion paint.

Why does condensation form on my walls?

Condensation forms on walls when warm, moist air meets cooler surfaces. This is a common issue in kitchens and bathrooms, to help prevent this use SPO Anti-Condensation paint which works by insulating the surface it’s applied too, warming up the surface and preventing condensation forming. SPO Anti-Condensation paint can be left as a finish or overcoated with decorative coatings.
