FAQs

Can you paint over old paint on sports facilities?

If the existing paint is well-adhered and stable, you can paint over it. Make sure to clean and abrade the surface before applying the new paint.
If the existing paint is unstable and failing this must be removed prior to painting. We recommend removing old paint by grinding the surface.

What type of paint should I use for painting lines?

We recommend using Coo-Var Line Marking Paint to mark out lines on sports facilities.

Can you paint a swimming pool?

Yes, you can paint a swimming pool but it’s important you use the correct coating, that's resistant to water and chlorine. Our SPO swimming pool paint is resistant to water and chemicals making it the perfect choice for your pool.

What type of paint should I use for a swimming pool?

When choosing paint for a swimming pool, it’s important to select a type specifically designed for pool use, as these paints are formulated to withstand constant exposure to water, pool chemicals, and varying temperatures.
We recommend using our SPO Swimming Pool paint. Our SPO Swimming Pool Paint is easy to apply, quick drying, good chemical resistance and moderately durable (3-5 years). Suitable for pools previously painted with chlorinated rubber and bare concrete swimming pools.

Can I paint over existing paint on a swimming pool?

Yes, you can paint over existing paint on a swimming pool, but there are several important steps and considerations:
- You must use paint that is compatible with the existing coating. For example, SPO Swimming Pool Paint is a chlorinated rubber-based pool paint and can only be applied over another chlorinated rubber-based paint.
- Examine the pool surface for any signs of peeling, blistering, or damage. Address any issues before painting.
- If the previous paint is stable, the new paint is compatible with it, and the surface has been properly cleaned and sanded, you can then apply a compatible coating.
